Merry Christmas!

This Christmas was full of firsts for me.
This was the first Christmas since I've been overseas that I had a Christmas tree in my own house.

This was also the first Christmas to share together with a family overseas.
It was fun to do a little bit of Christmas shopping for the boys and my sisters and open some presents together.

We even took a trip to a village on Christmas eve and enjoyed spending time with the extended family.

This year was also the first year that I have had a Christmas vacation in the 7 years I've lived in Myanmar.

We closed school from December 17th to January 1st.  It was so nice to have time to rest and enjoy the time of our Savior's birth.

On the 15th, before our vacation, we had our school Christmas party and invited the parents.

In the couple weeks before the party we spent time preparing for the party.  We made a pinata, Christmas chain and some snowflakes.

Here we are reciting 1 John 4:8 and singing Jesus Loves Me before we break the pinata.

Lots of yummy goodies from the pinata.

Here we are praying together for our Christmas lunch.
Myanmar style stewed beef and potatoes with butter rice.
"Thank you Jesus for the food, amen."

When the kids went upstairs they automatically went and sat down together like they do everyday for snack.

I was surprised, I thought they would have been a bit clingy and want to sit with their parents.

Mary's parents commented that they were impressed she sat through the whole meal instead of roaming around.  I'm glad that her parents were happy to see her sitting like a "big girl."

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thank you all for your prayers and support!
